What’s the schedule for the day/what should I expect to do? The day will be a mix of fun, hands-on learning, as well as community building. The main content of the day are four tracks: Future CEO, Future President, Future Doctors & Professors, and Future Engineer. Each track will give you more insight into what a career in that field looks like, as well as provide some hands-on opportunities to learn more/get a flavor of that field.
You will be put into four cohorts, and each cohort will have approximately 15 participants who are in or close to your grade level. You will get to stay with your cohort for the full day.
You will get to hear from two amazing keynote speakers, one at lunch and one during the closing session. Our lunch keynote speaker is Niasia Mercado, a young woman who grew up in New Haven and recently graduated from Southern Connecticut State University. Your closing keynote speaker is Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty.
You will also get the chance at lunch to meet and network with a bunch of awesome Yale graduate students who come from various industries, they are excited to meet you!
Who will be there? We have 64 registered high school leaders (you!) who represent nearly every high school in New Haven and a few from the surrounding area too!
